Six years ago, when Chasfida married in Palhallan Pattan, North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, her husband’s economic standing was modest, insufficient for a quality life. However, her exemplary farming efforts quickly transformed her into an agricultural entrepreneur, becoming a role model for other women in the area.
Chasfida utilizes her husband’s abandoned land for farming, supplying a variety of agricultural produce, including onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, saplings, chili, and other vegetables to Tanghdar, Ladakh, and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir, while also providing employment opportunities for several women at her farm.
