A Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech) student hailing from Baramulla district in north Kashmir has transitioned to sheep farming, turning it into a lucrative venture. Syed Sariah, originally from Kalantra Bala, completed his basic schooling at Tyndale Biscoe and Mallinson School in Tangmarg before pursuing a medical stream for his 12th grade at Higher Secondary School Batamaloo, Srinagar.
In 2018, he obtained his B.Tech degree in civil engineering from Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra. Upon returning home, he promptly pursued his long-standing interest in sheep farming, taking the decisive step in 2019. Opting for agri-entrepreneurship over conventional job opportunities, Sariah secured a loan of Rs 15 lakhs from the Jammu & Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (J&KEDI) along with a Rs 2 lakh subsidy to set up his venture.
