Humaira Shafi, a student at Govt Degree College Baramulla, clinched a gold medal in a ‘Muay Thai’ championship held by the District Muay Thai association at the Indoor Sports Stadium Baramulla. The two-day event, which began on February 22 and concluded on Friday, featured approximately 100 players from various parts of the district.
Inspired by online videos, Humaira joined a local academy in Langate, where she also achieved a Black belt in Karate and competed twice in Wushu championships at the state level. Admiring Tajamul Islam, a two-time world kickboxing champion from Bandipora, she dedicates four hours daily to refining her skills. Currently pursuing her Bachelor’s at Govt Boys Degree College Baramulla, Humaira has clinched two state championships and a gold medal at SAMDO national competitions.
